Yes, I make props and puppets by hand using a variety of skills and materials
Use the contact form below to discuss renting any prop or puppet on the website. Make sure to include the catalogue name of the item and the dates required
Props and puppets can be rented for a minimum of 1 week and offers may be applied to longer rentals
Yes props and puppets can be purchased. A commission may be recommended as previously rented puppets and props may have wear and tear and a commission would offer best quality for price.
A commission rental is offered by me to a production group. This will allow the production group to commission a specific puppet or prop from me, however rather then purchasing it outright it is rented on a temporary basis with a bespoke cost.
Commission rental pricing is different to rental pricing advertised else where on this site and is agreed upon before I start work.
A deposit is required before work is started. Which will include a refunded portion upon return of the commissioned prop or puppet
Commissioning for rental is not always an option and I reserve the right to offer this as I see fit. There are many factors that go into accepting these types of commissions and I will always endeavour to discuss and tailor ideas as much as possible. Commissioned for rental products will be available to rent for other production companies after a set period. Unless purchased outright commission rentals are still the property of Rent-A-Prop.
This very much depends on what is being requested. Timings for delivery will be discussed directly. Bare in mind puppets and props are hand made and often take a number of weeks. While shorter build times can be requested this may not be feasible and this likely will cost more over all. I would always recommend commissioning far in advance of production dates to avoid unexpected costs and for the best quality.
No, after return of the prop or puppet it will become available to any production company. For exclusive use of a prop or puppet it would need to be commissioned and purchased out right
A deposit is required for all rentals and commissions including commission rentals.
The price of this will be made clear through any discussions.
Rental deposits will be refunded upon return of props and puppets - providing no permanent damage is caused. (please see below for more details)
Commission rentals require a deposit upfront to begin work and will the rental deposit meaning a portion of this will be refunded upon safe return of the commissioned rental
If a rented item is returned with damage beyond reasonable wear and tear part of or all of the deposit may be retained for repairs or replacement.
Some wear and tear will occur by the nature of the use and all props and puppets will have a care sheet detailing any weak areas, specific handling requirements and storage needs.
If a breakage occurs while using a puppet or prop rental please do not worry and contact me as soon as possible so that I can repair it.
Rent-A-Prop customers will be given the option to advertise productions using Rent-A-Prop products. This is always optional and can be discussed at any time.
The Weird Stuff Workshop is a social media and YouTube channel run by me which also promotes and features Rent-A-Prop creations.
